Nail polish audit – The Twelve:27

I wore and evaluated these twelve polishes from mid October to the end of January. Three each by A England, Pahlish and Crows Toes and one each by OPI, Illyrian and Il Était un Vernis. I purposely picked a darker colour palette given the season to come. Another thing that is dark is the natural light in Sweden that time of the year, so therefore many of the pictures are quite poor in the brightness department.

Hell yes!

Il Était un Vernis – Cabernet Sauvignon
A England – Proserpine
Crows Toes – Tiki Torch
Pahlish – So Not Married

Maybe

A England – Queen of Scots

I love A England polishes and just wish this dark blue enticed me more. There is something in the metallic sheen of the shade that makes it less impactful somehow.

Illyrian – I’m the Monster

Oh how I want to love this polish. But it just felt very meh. The swampy green base is not very prevalent and the purple shimmer kind of takes over. Also it was difficult to build to a decent coverage. But I am willing to try again.

A England – Briar Rose

Another A England shade – stunning in its own right. But maybe not the best shade on me. It can land in the Maybe pile and then I can decide further on. The formula is brilliant too.

Crows Toes – Helheim

Difficult to build up and make it look good due to the rather transparent base. I did try it on top of a black polish and that looked better. But I would have loved to be build this one up on its own since I love a good jelly sandwich. So I am undecided on this one.

Pahlish – Black Lace Elderberry

Another polish that was difficult to build up to an even application. But I think it is such an interesting shade so I am reluctant to let it go just yet.

Pahlish – Sink in the Silence

I am hesitant to let go of any Pahlish polish but this one is in the Maybe pile due to being a bit too much of a warm brown to suit me well. But it is still very beautiful.

Hell no!

Crows Toes – Hellhound

Lovely shade in theory, not a good look on me.

OPI – A Grape Affair

This purple polish looks so much better in this picture than in reality. It is not really this dark. It is an ok purple but not a shade I prefer to wear, so it can go.

So to conclude this round of The Twelve I ended up with four keepers, six maybes and two hell noes.

Thank you for reading!
